Fast, Easy But Put-Together Makeup: A Simple Routine

Life has certainly become more fast-paced. With the age of TikTok, trends may come and go. However, for older women who go to work, are there realistic and wearable makeup looks that they can do? Fortunately, there is!

The no-makeup-makeup look is a staple look people universally love and turn to, especially for every day. It’s specific and suits many features. Everything that comes in and goes when you create a no-makeup-makeup look

Let’s explore a fast, easy makeup look that can flatter everyone, whether you have low or high visual weight!

Skin Prep

The quality of your final makeup look also relies heavily on how well you’ve prepped your skin. It’s not pure tongits online. Make sure to prep your skin for your makeup. If you have dry skin, make sure that your skin is well-moisturized. Don’t forget your sunscreen, too—and make sure it’s a sunscreen that doesn’t let your makeup pill!

Skin preparation affects how the makeup will look after it’s done. We recommend taking five to ten minutes (5 to 10) before putting on your face makeup (the base), as sunscreen takes a few minutes before it sets in the skin. If you put the foundation on too fast, it might mess up the longevity of your foundation.

Base

The base depends on how much skin you want to show—whether you have good skin or not and what type of skin you have!

Your best bet for applying your base is to use your fingers or a buffing foundation brush. Both have soft touches that can leave the base looking like second skin. The warmth of a finger can be replicated with a brush; however, nothing is as close as the real thing. The warmth helps the product better adhere to the skin.

Make sure, too, that your base’s shade match is on point. If you are wearing something revealing, color-match your base to your shoulder or collarbone so that the color is seamless.

Our base recommendations:

  • Maybelline Lumi Matte foundation
  • L’oreal True Match Foundation
  • Nars Tinted Moisturizer
  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

Brows

The brows are a crucial framing point, especially for no-makeup looks, since they and the lips frame the face. You have plenty of freedom when it comes to brows. You can add a slight arch to the brows. However, straight brows can make you look younger. If your brows are thick, you can groom them to have a shape and then clean them up with concealer.

We recommend the following products:

  • K-palette 1 DAY Tattoo Lasting 2 Way Eyebrow
  • K-palette 1 Day Tattoo Liner
  • Got2BeGlued Spiking Glue

Cream Blush

This step is optional, but a blush can elevate your face card! Cream blushes also look close to our cheeks’ natural flush. We recommend a universal rosy peach or pink shade for a natural flush! Dab it on the apples of your cheeks or diagonally for a more lifted look.

Concealer

Remember to use a concealer in your skin tone for any visible imperfections so that your skin looks even. Start with small dabs; if you need more coverage, continue dabbing it on.

You should invest in a color corrector if you have big dark circles.

Some favorites include:

  • Nars Soft Matte Pot Concealer
  • Kosas Revealer Concealer

Eyeliner and Mascara

The eyes are a window to your soul – or so it has been said. You can draw attention to your eyes with dark brown eyeliner and mascara. Dark brown is less noticeable than black eyeliner.

One way to make the most of your eyeliner is to understand what style suits your eye shape.

Our eyeliner recs are:

  • Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Super Keep
  • Sharp So Simple Waterproof Pen Liner
  • Merzy The First Gel Eyeliner

Lip Product

Find a shade that counts for your MLBB: my lips, but better. This means that the shade is closer to your natural lip color. However, the key to finding your lips better is to understand your lips’ undertone.

MLBB Shades:

  • Warm-Toned: Romand Glasting Water Tint in Brick River, Romand Juicy Lasting Tint in Eat Dottori, NYX Cannes
  • Cool-Toned: Romand Zero Velvet Tint Vintage Filter in Nerd Pink, Mac in Soft and Gentle, Colourpop’s Dejavu
  • Neutral-Toned: Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk and Pillow Talk Medium,  MAC’s Matte formula in Velvet Teddy
