Glass Onion house is fake; filming took place at Amanzoe Resort’s Villa 20
Glass Onion house is fictional. Netflix has listed it on Zillow to drive publicity for the film.
Filming took place at Amanzoe Resort’s Villa 20 in the middle of the Peloponnesian peninsula. The filmmaker used visual effects to make the peninsula look like an island. You can visit the resort when it reopens in April 2023.
The Glass Onion dome atop the house isn’t real – it was added to the film via CGI. Interior shots of the Glass Onion house were filmed on a set built in Belgrade, Serbia. Rick Heinrichs, the production designer, told Conde Nast Traveler:
“There was some outdoor stuff for which we shot a few things on location last fall in Connecticut and New York, and then everything inside was built in Serbia.”
The filmmakers also shot some scenes on the harbor of Spetses Island. They also filmed a scene at the Poseidonion Grand Hotel, a five-star resort on the island.
