Is Hunter Doohan gay? His sexuality revealed

In Wednesday, Hunter Doohan plays Tyler, a normal-looking barista working at a local coffee shop. Tyler’s life changes when he meets Wednesday Addams, the series’ protagonist. Tyler’s affection for Addams appears misguided as Addams rarely shows emotion – her signature deadpan star is sometimes quite terrifying.
However, Tyler prods away, breaking down Addams’ walls with tender affection. Unlike others who are repelled by Addams’ darkness, Tyler is attracted to it. The barista eventually lands his girl, leading to an unexpected revelation.
Hunter’s love life in the series is entirely dissimilar to his love life in real life. For instance, Hunter Doohan is gay off-screen.
Hunter found out he was gay while dating his ex-girlfriend
In an interview with Queerty, Hunter said the gayest thing about him is his ‘For You’ page on TikTok but declined to elaborate, suggesting that readers would understand his answer.
Doohan told the outlet that his ex-girlfriend inadvertently helped him realize he was gay by introducing him to Will & Grace. He explained:
“That show was definitely the biggest exposure I had had to queer culture up until that point. And I loved it. I don’t even know how I was still ‘in the closet’ because I was getting Will & Grace DVD box sets for Christmas!”
Will & Grace was the first prime-time TV show to feature openly gay lead characters on American television. It opened the door for LGBTQ+ representation on screen and motivated people like Hunter to embrace their sexuality proudly.
“I think Will & Grace did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody has ever done,” then Vice President Joe Biden said during a debate on the same-sex marriage issue.
Hunter and his ex-girlfriend Grace didn’t fall out after he came out – they are best friends.
Hunter Doohan is married to Fielder Jewett

Hunter Doohan is a married man – he wed Fielder Jewett in an intimate ceremony held in June 2022. “It was absolutely the best day of our lives!” Doohan wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone who made it special.”
Jewett, a law student, proposed to Hunter on New Year’s Eve 2020 in the couple’s house. Coronavirus restrictions likely prevented an outdoor proposal. “Is there anything more 2020 than an at-home proposal?” Hunter wrote on Instagram. “I love you @fielderjewett! Can’t wait to marry you!”
Fans – even those swooning over Hunter – are happy to learn that Doohan is happily married. @Jared_VanL tweeted: “The fact that Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler in Wednesday on Netflix, is gay and married makes me very happy.”
