Who is Justin Pearson’s wife? All about his fiancé Oceana Gillian

Justin Pearson

Justin Pearson lost a mentor and a collegemate to gun violence. His loss fuels his passion for the passing of gun-control laws. Pearson, part of ‘the Tennessee three’, was expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives for joining a protest for stricter gun laws on the House floor.

Justin Pearson’s fiance, Oceana Gillian, vowed that Pearson would keep fighting for justice and democracy

Justin Pearson is not married, but he is engaged to Oceana Gillian. The length of their engagement is unclear, as the couple keeps the details of their relationship secret. Gillian has a private Instagram page that only reveals she has two dogs, Curly and Pham.

Oceana Gillian supported Pearson during his campaign and has been an omnipresent figure during his tussle with the Tennessee House of Representatives. Speaking to Mother Jones’ Garrison Hayes, Gillian said she predicted Pearson would get voted out of the House.

“To think that just with a few votes the Republicans can get him kicked out is very disheartening,” Gillian said. “It just really hurts my heart. He worked so hard to get here; our community worked so hard to get here.”

Gillian claimed Pearson had faced constant neglect and disrespect from the House. Nevertheless, she vowed that Pearson and his supporters would keep fighting for justice and democracy.

Pearson thanked Gillian for her support, tweeting: “Thanks to my beautiful fiancé for fighting with the people and working to make justice possible in Tennessee. It’s time to do something about gun violence and to fight for our communities that are suffering. We WILL Keep fighting!!”

Pearson might return to the House via a route his compatriot Justin Jones followed. Per a press release by Chairman Mickell Lowery of the Shelby County Board of Commissioners, the board will ‘consider the action to reappoint Mr. Justin Pearson to his duly elected position to represent the citizens in District 86 for the State of Tennessee House of Representatives’. It concludes:

“I am certain that the leaders in the State Capitol understand the importance of this action on behalf of the affected citizens here in Shelby County, Tennessee, and that we stand ready to work in concert with them to assist with only positive outcomes going forward.”
