Is Pedro Pascal married? His surprising attitude towards marriage

Since his breakthrough performance in Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal has been one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood. In stark contrast to the first two decades of his career, Pascal now stars in blockbuster productions. He plays Joel in the popular HBO adaptation of The Last of Us. 

Pascal’s attitude towards sharing details about his private life hasn’t changed with the onset of fame and success. He is perhaps more reserved about his love life than he was when the best he could do was land recurring or guest roles in shows. 

Pascal’s fear of loss motivates him to avoid relationships and fatherhood

Pascal might not be hiding his relationships – it’s likely that he isn’t involved with anyone. Pedro Pascal isn’t married or in a relationship. 

In an interview with Wired, Pascal suggested that he avoids relationships and fatherhood due to his fear of loss. In reference to his character in The Last of Us, Pascal said:

“Existing is connected to the love you feel toward a particular relationship—your child, your partner—and to lose that? Some people are not capable of applying rational thought to that kind of loss, or the threat of that loss, or the threat of that loss again, right?”

The actor stated that he deals with the uncertainty of loss by not having kids and staying out of relationships. Pascal said he didn’t know whether he wanted to have children and admitted to being close to his nephews. “Only because they were so good at playing The Last of Us,” Pascal said. “No, I’m just kidding.”

Pedro Pascal and Maria Dizzia dated for a while in the early 90s after meeting in Law and Order. Pascal’s love life hit the headlines over two decades later when he was linked with GOT co-star Lena Headey. 

The pair spent a lot of time together in public and seemed to have a close relationship. “Sunshine love,” Lena captioned an Instagram photo of Pascal and herself. 

When Lena got pregnant in February 2015, people speculated that Pascal was the father. The actress later announced that the child’s father was Dan Cadan, her now-husband, shutting down rumors that she dated Pascal. 

Pascal was also linked with Robin Tunney, his The Mentalist co-star, and his long-time friend, Sara Paulson. The duo met in New York in the early 1990s and, as far as we know, have never had romantic relations. 

Pedro Pascal is not gay, but he was rumored to be in a relationship with his close friend Oscar Isaac. Pascal once referred to Isaac as the ‘love of his life,’ but there’s no indication of a romantic relationship. 

Pascal supports the LGBTQ+ community: he was flattered when he learned that a group of straight men on the internet were ‘Gay for Oberyn’. Pascal told the Los Angeles Times:

“It’s so wonderful. I think it’s all a spectrum, right? Straight men can have—do have—crushes on other men. It doesn’t make them gay, it doesn’t make them bi. I was super-flattered.”
