Katelyn Brown’s music career is well and truly underway following her win at the CMT Music Awards. She and Kane Brown’s hit Thank God was named Video of the Year Sunday. “This is all so new to me, and when we recorded this song a year ago, I never in my life would ever think that this was going to happen,” Katelyn Brown said in her acceptance speech. 

Katelyn Brown is Caucasian; her parents are white

Katelyn Brown was born on 19th June 1993 to white parents in Philadelphia. She is Caucasian. 

She stayed with her mom, Karen, after her parents divorced when she was young. Therefore, there’s no reliable information about her father’s identity. 

In an interview with CMT, Katelyn described her mom as her best friend. “My mom’s my best friend, so I want the same kind of bond with my daughter. We’re young, have lots of energy and are traveling a lot so right now is the perfect time to start a family.”

Katelyn told Berklee Online that Karen approved of her decision to focus on her studies at the expense of her music career. She said: “I told my mom, ‘I don’t want people to tell me what to do and I don’t have the knowledge to back up my decision or to argue what I feel is right.’ So I wanted to know the business side.”
