What is Lauren Boebert’s ethnicity? The politician’s heritage discussed

Lauren Boebert

Lauren Boebert has rarely left news headlines since her unexpected election to the United States House of Representatives in 2020. She recently trended after her ejection from a Beetlejuice: The Musical performance in Denver. Boebert and her date were unceremoniously thrown out of the theater after she became too much of a nuisance to the audience.

Lauren Boebert’s ethnicity is unclear; she has a white mother

Lauren Boebert was born on 19th December 1986 to Shawn Elaine Roberts in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Boebert’s mother is white; her father’s ethnicity is unclear. The politician suggested before joining Congress that she was ‘multiethnic’ but didn’t elaborate on her different ethnicities.

Unsubstantiated internet rumors claim that Boebert has Latino roots. They allege that she passes as white for political reasons. Without the identity of Boebert’s father, it’s difficult to ascertain her ethnicity.

For a long time, Shawn claimed that former wrestler Stan Lane was Boebert’s biological father. Stan took a paternity test in the late 80s, confirming that he wasn’t related to Boebert. However, Shawn protested the test’s results, citing the questionable integrity of the lab technician who collected Stan’s DNA.

The issue was finally settled in 2023 when the results of another DNA test confirmed that Stan and Boebert weren’t related. “I can confirm that Stan Lane is not my biological father,” Boebert told The Daily Beast. “I personally have never claimed he was my father – but certainly, that allegation is out there.”

Stan talked to the outlet about the impact of the paternity allegations on his life. He said, “I feel my otherwise good reputation has been tarnished considerably. I and other close members of my inner circle have been dragged into this as well. I have also been followed by the news media so that they could get the scoop on this topic.”

It might be that Boebert doesn’t know her father. Her father’s name wasn’t listed on her birth certificate or in the birth announcement published in the Orlando Sentinel. Reports claim that Boebert’s mom and dad divorced when the family still resided in Florida. Shawn moved the family to the Montbello neighborhood in Denver and later to Aurora, Colorado.

The family eventually settled in Rifle, Colorado. Boebert said in a Facebook video that her family grew up poor due to Democratic policies:

“My mom was a true blue Democrat and she believed all of the lies that she was told — that she could not support me and my brothers on her own. She was told that if she went out to try to support us without the help of Democrat politicians, she would fail. Because of that, we grew up poor.”

However, records at the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office show that Shawn registered as a Republican when the family moved to Colorado and remained one until 2013.
