I hope that many of you are familiar with the German TV series called “Darkness”. To some, it seemed boring and drawn out. Others were delighted and only surprised at the work of the screenwriters and authors of the idea. But the fact is that the critics’ ratings and success in the form of indicators of the series were high. This was followed by the continuation of the series and the most important moment. After the series “Darkness”, Netflix began to pay attention not only to local American projects, but also foreign ones. And thus we are approaching perhaps the most high-profile debut of 2021.

So, let’s remember the dramas. Many people used to laugh at this word. Everything changed with the advent of the TV series “The Squid Game”. Ardent fans of doramas will still not consider this series a top one and will run to watch their school romance. Because the “Squid Game” part is not a straight drama. But the fact remains. The phenomenon of the “Squid Game” has prompted many countries to ask for more Asian content. 

Unlike other projects, the “Squid Game” has penetrated into many areas of life, and this is not a joke. After the success and high-profile release, warden masks with triangles, squares, and circles began to appear on store shelves. There is a lot of such merch. TikTok broke up and even small children found out about the existence of this series. Even on birthdays, animators dressed up in a warden’s costume and a “Red Light, Green Light” contest was held under the already famous Korean rhyme. The survival game won the hearts of people so much that local games for money began to be held. Without deaths, of course. The “Squid Game” went beyond the screens and became a phenomenon whose noise lasted for a very long time.

Arcane (2021)

At the head of progress are “Arcane” and “Love, death and robots.” Thanks to these projects, the world has generally realized that it is ready and wants to watch such a product. We do not deny “Spider-Man: Across the Universes.” Courage and revolution took place here and I am sure that every creator is now ready to make the product no worse. This means that only a high-quality and top-end product awaits us.

Thanks to these projects, we learned about the existence of Alberto Mielgo, who made such top things as “Witness” from the first season of “Love Death and Robots” and “Jibaro” from the second season and of course “Arcane”. It’s just a unique animation with amazing characters. 

Wednesday (2022)

This is a recent and somewhat equally striking event on the streaming platform. Firstly, many viewers were shocked that it was even possible to somehow resurrect the universe of the Addams Family and arouse the interest of the modern viewer. The series turned out to be quite good. Due to TikTok and the famous dance, Wednesday Addams has generated a lot of parodies from fans.

And here is about the same case as with the “Squid Game”. Word of mouth and the need for content have done their job. The series is so popular among children that after the release, animators with two pigtails and a black dress began to appear at regular children’s parties. This is another Netflix project that somehow goes beyond the screen and sets a trend.
